An excuse to crochet...

After the busiest year of my life with planning our wedding, trips to the hospital, shooting weddings, working 40ish hour weeks and having a lot of fun in-between, it is lovely to have a bit of time to do the other things I enjoy in life...

I've been reading a lot; currently working my way through The Little Friend by Donna Tartt- she loves to give immense detail about every single character which is a bit too much for my liking but I'm very intrigued to know how the story will pan out!  I've also had several reasons given to me over the past few weeks to pick up the old crochet hooks again and get crafting...

I'm currently working on a lovely Chevron Blanket in the most gorgeous colours! The pattern is so easy to follow which I very much appreciate after such a long break from having made anything! Oh I do love a good Chevron!!  I'll post more photos when I'm a little further along...

Beth & Quin ~ Sneak Peek

So my final wedding of the year was a lovely end to an amazing year!  I have known Beth & Quin for about 9 years (!) so it was such a pleasure to capture their special day for them!  And true to form, it was one of the smiliest weddings I have ever shot and I loved how much DIY was going on!  Marvellous!xx

Annabel & Chris ~Sneak Peek

Chris & Annabel's wedding was the very first to be held at the brand new, beautiful Saltmarshe Hall in Howden.  And what a wedding it was!  As the room started to fill with the excited anticipation of much loved family and friends, Chris beamed as he waited for his beautiful bride to walk down the aisle.  It was the sweetest, most relaxed wedding and a joy to shoot from start to finish!  Congratulations Chris & Bel xxx

Dave & Rachel ~ Sneak Peek

Dave & Rachel became the new Mr & Mrs Sunshine Whelton yesterday.  I have never known such a happy, positive, upbeat bride as Rachel, even in the midst of a power cut at the venue which delayed hairdressing for an hour!!  It was a beautiful day with lots of familiar faces from a few other weddings I've shot over the past couple of years...  Dave is the brother of the lovely Sarah who married my old time friend Jon two years ago; they brought along their 4 week old son, beautiful Benedict - my 3rd wedding baby!!  I also shot Rachel's bridesmaid, Holly's wedding last summer too!  Love it!

Congratulations to the happy couple, a fabulous day with just the right amount of ice cream, balloons and the cutest pageboy you ever did see!

Jen & Greg ~ Sneak Peek

Well things have certainly been quiet on the blog front for rather a looooong time!  Only a wee sprinkling of weddings in the diary this year as I will be very busy preparing for my OWN wedding next February and with that and the day job, I'll be a busy little bee!  Shooting the first wedding of the year on 1st April was a treat (not an April Fool in sight, apart from the corker of a trick I played on my Arsenal supporting Fiance after telling him Theo Walcott was the Grooms cousin and was going to be at the Wedding!! Mwahhahahaha)...

Jen & Greg got married at their beautiful church in Rugeley followed by a reception at Barton Marina.  It was a wonderful day, and although sunny, thanks to the tradition of placing a Child of Prague statue in your window the night before a wedding to guarantee good weather, it was rather chilly and blustery... Nevertheless,  Jen & Greg just didn't stop grinning all day - Jen has one of the best happy faces that I've ever seen!!  Sneak peek photos prove it!

Sneak Peek ~ Sally & Tom

Perfect wedding location?!  The Chatsworth Estate!  Anybody who knows me will know how much I love Chatsworth and have spent many a happy day there with friends and family...  So when Sally & Tom asked me to shoot their wedding there in September, well, you can image my reaction!  It was such a gorgeous day, with amazing little attention to detail thanks to the lovely Charlotte at Pretty Little Things.  There were so many touching, funny moments during the day that it'll be a wedding I'll remember for a long, long time...  Congratulations Tom & Sally!x

Sneak Peek - Gemma & Chris

Gemma & Chris were married in a beautiful old church in South Yorkshire at the end of August.  Although the forecast for the day had scheduled thunderstorms and heavy rain, there was still a glimmer of hope in the air that the blue skies surrounding Gemma & Chris' house that morning might stay with us!  But alas, half way through the wedding ceremony, a loud clap of thunder rang out and the rain came down...  But it didn't do much to dampen the spirits of the happy couple and their fun loving guests as they all hopped on a coach up to the beautiful Smallshaw Farm in Penistone to party the night away - wellington boots and all!  The highlight of the day for me was seeing the children plied with tissues to dry the dance floor before the first dance!  Brilliant!
